1.Prophet Adam A.S
The first of the human kind sent down to earth was Adam A.S. He was also the first of the messengers. He was mentioned in surah: 2, 4, 5, 20, 21, 38 and others about the creation and the incident of Adam AS and the forbidden tree.
2.Prophet Idris A.S
Among the earliest of messengers, Idris AS is mentioned twice in Quran where he is described as a wise man and he was a man of truth (and sincerity). The last messenger, Hazrat Muhammad SAW met him into the fourth heaven in his journey of Mi'raj.
3.Prophet Nuh (Noah) A.S
Nūh is the seventy-first Surah of the Quran with 28 ayat. It is about the prophet and his complaint about his people rejecting all warnings Allah gave them through Nuh. With permission of Allah SWT Prophet Nuh made a very large boat that boarded the believers and animals to save their soul from the punishment of Allah SWT (flash floods that hit the people of Nuh the infidel).
4.Prophet Hud A.S
Hud's name was mentioned seven times in the Quran. The eleventh Surah was named after him. He was sent to the people of Aad, where many of the people had hearts that were dead and rock-hard, they still held on to error and perversion, by the worship of idols. and so ultimately Allah Almighty decreases Azab for them in the form of a prolonged hot storm which keeps the wells and water sources dry and many of the plants that die from it. And then Allah SWT brings a black cloud that is thought to be a grace in the form of rain for the people.
5.Prophet Saleh/ Salih A.S
Prophet Saleh belonged to the tribe of Thamud. The people here built their homes into the cliffs of the area. The incident Saleh AS summoned his people to a mountain, where they witnessed the rock miraculously split open, revealing the female camel and her calf as a mu'jiza.
6.Prophet Lut (Lot) A.S
The people of Sodom were prosperous and thriving. In such success people often diverge to the wrong path away from Allah. They got involved in many sinful activities, one of which being homosexuality. Allah then sent Prophet Lut to help the city of Sodom. So when the Prophet said for his people to abandon the act, he received the mistreatment of his people, and so Allah also doomed the punishment for the people in the form of a great earthquake accompanied by rain rocks and strong winds that ultimately destroy the population in the city except the Prophet Lut and his believing followers.
7.Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) A.S
The best of humankind, sent into the world to guide people back to the worship of Allah SWT alone. He was the most tested prophet with pure sufferings. He was the messenger who built Kaa'ba in Makkah. Ibrahim is the 14th Surah of the Qur'an with 52 ayat.
8.Prophet Ismail (Ishmael) A.S
The miracle of the prophet Ismail is associated with Safa and Marwa valley in the search for water by Ibrahim's wife Hajar for their son Ismail and the flow of Zam Zam came across. His salvation was also tested by Allah when his father (Prophet Ibrahim A.S) was about to sacrifice him as a sacrifice on the command of Allah SWT. And when it was about to be slaughtered, Allah SWT replaced Prophet Ismail with a sheep. He is mentioned 12 times in Quran in 12 ayat.
9.Prophet Ishaq (Isaac) A.S
Ishaq is mentioned fifteen times by name in the Quran, often with his father Ibrahim AS and his son, Yaqūb AS. The Quran states that Ibrahim AS received "good tidings of Ishaq, a prophet, of the righteous", and that Allah blessed them both (37: 112). The name Ishak means 'One who laughs' because Sarah laughed when the angel told them that they would get a child (since she was very old).
10.Prophet Yaqub (Jacob) A.S
The word 'Yaqub' mentioned 16 times in Quran in 16 ayat. He was the son of Ishaq A.S grandson of Ibrahim A.S also a faithful leader and the messenger of Allah based in Canaan. His loving son Yusuf A.S was detached from him at young age by the mistreatment of the other sons that broke his heart and cried a lot.
11.Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) A.S
Yusuf is the 12th surah of the Quran and has 111 Ayat. And the miracle of the prophet Joseph A.S is blessed by Allah SWT with a handsome face and can interpret the dream. His journey from the water well as a servant of Egyptian official (Pharao) into the jail and to have the charge of Egyptian lands was astonishing.
12.Prophet Ayub A.S
Prophet Ayub A.S is the messenger of Allah SWT who is considered as the most patient in facing temptation. His wealth was lost in a fire break-out and lost his health later Allah returned him what he deserved.
13.Prophet Shuaib A.S
Shuaib A.S is mentioned in the Quran a total of 11 times. Allah SWT saved the Prophet and his followers from the punishment which befell the Madyan, that is in the form of a hot storm, the coming of black clouds, lightning, and earthquake that destroyed the corrupted people.
14.Prophet Musa (Moses) A.S
Mūsā A.S is an important prophet and messenger of Allah and is the most frequently mentioned individual in the Quran, with his name being mentioned 136 times and his life being narrated and recounted more than that of any other prophet. And the miracle of the prophet musa is the stick of being a serpent. and upon the help of Allah SWT through the stick, then Prophet Moses could split the red sea so that he and his followers could be saved from Pharaoh's pursuit.
15.Prophet Harun (Aaron) A.S
The miracle of the prophet is that Allah SWT has bestowed the ability of good language and gifted speaking ability to the Prophet Harun AS. He was the brother of Musa A.S and often spoke for him who suffered from a speech impediment.
16.Prophet Dhul Kifl A.S
The Story of Dhul-Kifl (also referred to as Zul-Kifl) is a bit of a mystery. There is not much information known or recorded and a lot of debate as to whether he truly is a Prophet. The literal meaning of Dhul-Kifl is “Possessor of the Fold”. What we know about him is that he was a righteous man and ‘company of the good’ who was also extremely patient. This is based off two mentions of Dhul-Kifl in the Glorious Quran.
Dawud A.S is considered one of the most important people in Islam. Mentioned sixteen times in the Quran. The prophet was a king who was known for wisdom, strength and devotion to Allah SWT. He had a beautiful voice that when he recites sang praises for Allah, Even Birds, plants and mountains would enjoy listening to his voice. He also could understand the language of animal kingdom. He was famous for defeating Zalut (Goliath) in a battle. The holy book 'Zabur' was revealed on Prophet Dawud A.S.
Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon) A.S was the youngest son of Dawud (David) and the third king of Bani Israil. His name is mentioned in the Holy Quran 17 times. Allah bestowed many gifts on Sulaiman including the ability to speak with animals and rule over Jinn. He ruled justly and is often regarded as one of the greatest rulers. Sulaiman A.S learned from his father’s vast knowledge and judgment and often joined his father during hearings.
Ilyas is mentioned in the Quran, where his preaching is recounted in a concise manner. The Quran narrates that Ilyas told his people to come to the worship of Allah SWT alone and to leave the worship of Baal, the primary idol of the area. The Quran states: "Verily Ilyas was one of the apostles''. But the people deny what is taught by him. Hence Allah (SWT) sent down Azab for them in the form of a prolonged drought and rain that could not touch the earth.
20.Prophet Al-yasa (Elisha) A.S
Prophet Ilyasa A.S is among the best servants and righteous messengers of Allah SWT. He lived among his people and called upon them to obey the laws and commands of Allah. Not much is known about his life, but the Quran speaks highly of him in the two ayah he is mentioned.
21.Prophet Yunus (Jonas) A.S
The tenth chapter of the Quran is named after him. In the Quran, Yunus is mentioned several times by name, as an apostle of Allah, and as Dhul-Nun. And the miracle of the prophet Yunus A.S was that he was saved by Allah when swallowed by a whale (or a fish-like creature) for some time when he left the Assyrians in Ninawa.
Prophet Zakariya (AS) was one of the prophets from the Bani Israel. As we already know, Allah sent many prophets to this nation, and he was among them. He was one of Prophet Sulaiman’s (AS) descendants. He earned his livelihood as a carpenter. Furthermore, he was a very righteous person. He was in charge of a sanctuary, and there, he prayed to Allah and worshiped Him as a true believer. And the miracle of the Prophet Zakaria is he newly gifted offspring when his age has aged (old). This is because his wife is a barren woman. Then the Prophet Zakaria prayed to Allah SWT, and finally Allah SWT grant him and send the prophet Yahya A.S as the descendant of Prophet Zakaria U.S. Zakariya was also the guardian of Maryam (Mother of Isa A.S).
Yahya A.S was, to his community, the best of characters: calm and deeply compassionate to both humans and animals. He was merciful and tender to everyone, and bore a deep love for all of Allah’s creations. His manner was gentle and tranquil, and he was not quick to anger. Allah SWT gifted the ability to the prophet Yahya A.S to know the Shari'a and decide the human case since he was a child. And then he is known for being very diligent and likes to read.
Isa A.S was the prophet and messenger of Allah. Maryam, mother of Isa A.S was a pious woman who devoted her life to the worship of Allah. Isa A.S was the virginal conception of Maryam as the reward of her devotion. Isa A.S was able to heal the blind, to revive the dead with the will of Allah, and he was finally lifted up to heaven by Allah SWT when the Jews tried to crucify him. Isa A.S will be reappeared on earth before Qiyamat. He was blessed with Injeel (The Holy Scripture). Mentioned by name or title 25 times in the Quran.
Mentioned only 4 times by name in the Quran, Prophet Muhammad SAW is the closing messenger of Allah. And as for the teachings that Prophet Muhammad brought to him were to perfect the teachings brought by the prophets and earlier apostles. He was blessed by Allah with the Quran and guidance for the whole of humanity.
